About Dr. BartlettDr. David H. Bartlett Dr. David H. Bartlett is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with over 25 years experience performing both partial and total knee replacement surgery. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, he served his orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon returning home to Madison, Wisconsin in 1978 he joined Drs. Nordby, Sachtjen, Lucas and Huffer at Bone and Joint Surgery Associates, an independent orthopedic practice. Dr. Bartlett is now senior partner. As an independent practitioner, Dr. Bartlett believes that the patient always comes first. "My responsibility is to my patient, not to an HMO, an insurance company or a hospital." Dr. Bartlett believes in offering patients non-surgical as well as surgical options for orthopedic problems. He enjoys teaching and helping his patients make educated decisions. He understands people's concerns with regards to having surgery. Respecting the need to plan and time surgery to one's life activities, Dr. Bartlett takes time to help people understand the impact of their surgery and their recovery process. Dr. Bartlett's leisure activities include mountain biking, road biking, windsurfing, sailing, ice boating, hiking and canoeing. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
